About Helen O’Neill of Goring Physiotherapy

Helen O'Neill, Goring Physiotherapy

Goring Physio was started by Helen O’Neill.

She is a specialist physiotherapist in human movement. She has been working with athletes and people that move for decades and is an expert in movement analysis and dysfunction.

Helen has had a lifelong interest in movement, from dancing, playing hockey, yoga and triathlon. A keen athlete for years, and now more of a completer not a competer!

She first studied Human Movement Science and Exercise physiology at Liverpool University, then went on to study physiotherapy at Salford University in 2004, receiving a first class honours.

As soon as she was qualified Helen went to live in Whistler to ‘Live the Dream‘ of skiing before work. She lived there for 6 years gaining some of the best front-line sport physiotherapy experience there is. She studied at the University of British Columbia to obtain a Post-Graduate Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 2007.

Helen was a key practitioner at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.  She has also worked with the Canadian National Snowboard & Triathlon teams.

She is an expert in diagnosis and treatment of injury or dysfunctional movement patterns, treating Ironmen and world-class skiers, through to recreational runners and swimmers. At Goring Physiotherapy, she uses a variety of methods including manual and manipulative therapy, Intra Muscular Stimulation -style dry needling, neuromuscular re-programming and functional rehabilitation. All specified to each individual need.

She is Founder and Director of Fix, a multi-disciplinary London Physiotherapy clinic in Stratford, East London and is co-founder of Threes Physiyoga Method, based in and around New York.

Helen founded Fix in late 2012 after returning from Chile whilst working with the Canadian Snowboard Team. There she worked within an inter-referring team including trainers, nutritionists, osteopaths, psychologists, physios, coaches and surgeons.  It was this experience of healthcare that inspired Helen to set up Fix, in order to provide a network of dedicated inter-referring specialists that work together to provide EXACTLY what an athlete needs to maintain optimum health and performance.

When she’s not being a physio, or managing the Goring Physiotherapy clinic, Helen loves to cycle, practice yoga, strength train and spend time with her 2 small children enjoying village life.

It's been the best investment in my health and wellbeing, from being in constant pain to not only pain-free (and therefore happier and nicer!) but able to do regular strenuous exercise. I'm so grateful I found Helen's clinic” Pram M
